QCM-soft is a set of four different
programs dedicated to different types of
measurements using QCM technique. It works
together with QCM-3.
QCM-soft is the result of more than 10 years of continuous development,
closely related to different measurements
performed with earlier versions QCM-1 and QCM-2 as
data aquisition boards plugged into a PC.
QCM-soft has a user-friendly concept
allowing the widest range of measurements based
on the QCM technique.
QCM-soft includes the following programs:
1. Dual Quartz Crystal Microbalance
2. Differential Quartz Crystal
Microbalance
3. Thermocompensated Quartz Crystal
Microbalance
4. Current Compensated Quartz Crystal
Microbalance
Dual Quartz Crystal Microbalance is a
program which allows simultaneous measurements
with two different quartz crystal resonators.
Differential Quartz Crystal Microbalance
is a program which allows the possibility for
differential measurements. Thus, the spurious
effects of the temperature, pressure, air and
liquid viscosity are greatly reduced or even
eliminated. The accuracy of the QCM measurements
is significantly improved using this program.
Thermocompensated Quartz Crystal Microbalance
is a program which allows mass measurements
within a wide temperature range using a
commercial quartz resonator and a temperature
sensor (Pt-1000) placed closed to the quartz
resonator. Performing a slow sweep of the
temperature in the desired temperature range a
data-base including the frequency-temperature
characteristics of the used resonator is created.
When mass measurement experiments are performed
the frequency-temperature characteristics of the
used quartz resonator is subtracted from the
total frequency change, revealing thus the net
mass effect.
Current Compensated Quartz Crystal
Microbalance is a program based on the same
concept as Thermocompensated Quartz Crystal
Microbalance but, instead of a temperature sweep,
the crystal current is swept within the desired
range. The amplitude-frequency effect is thus
eliminated. This program is useful when the
effect of the acceleration on the deposited
films is investigated.
The possibilities of the QCM-soft can be
directly evaluated by free download of the
QCM-soft. This is the real program, not a
demo.
